smb – The way to change MacBook community title

I am on MacOS 15.1 and I wish to change the title my MacBook broadcasts to the community. My MacBook’s title is MyNames-Macbook-`professional in Settings > Common > About > Identify and the identical in Common > Sharing > Native Hostname with the added .native. I would like this (or one thing related) to be the community title, i.e. if I strive arp -a from one other gadget I get mac (handle I)…, extra importantly, the title of the shared file on smb:// mac. They each seem as “mac” and do not appear to vary once I change the title anyplace. At one level, it modified to my IP handle once I rebooted the router, however went again to “mac” once I rebooted the system.

I noticed somebody recommend altering the WINS NetBIOS wifi title, which was “MAC”, so I modified it to the identical title as my pc, which did not resolve my drawback. Additionally, somebody urged altering the title in About and ready for a DNS replace. Can this be compelled on my router or simply reboot it?

I used to be capable of obtain this consequence on my previous MacBook by altering the title, and though it did not change instantly, however after a number of days, the unique title was the identical because the gadget title. I hope it fixes itself and I can shut this for the following one that appears to be like, however within the meantime, does anybody know a greater answer for this?
